Station Histories

Page last updated on August 15th, 2022 at 12:57 pm

Over the years, many stations have come, gone, rebranded, been swallowed up, or in some cases thrive. The radio landscape rarely stays still for any length of time. In some ways, this has ensured there is always something new (though not always good) to explore, but has led to some fantastic stations disappearing into the history books.

Through time, this section will be a biography of various stations, recording the history behind the station, and for those still broadcasting, how its current format came into being. This section will draw on a sizeable amount of data archive from the original Scott’s Radio Site, to chart and record the various changes that have taken place over the years.

For now though, I’ve yet to start work properly on this section, so this page will serve to give you a taste of what is to come.

In the pipeline…

The following stations are being prioritised for station histories:

Century Radio/Real Radio North East

Rathergood Radio

Union Jack (including spin-offs)

Virgin Radio (current – including spin-offs)
